What is holistic dentistry?
Holistic dentistry offers patients quality dental care that not only positively affects their oral health but also improves their overall health. Total wellbeing is a priority for our dentistry. We focus on services that offer you optimal health by using biocompatible materials that work well with the chemistry in your body and minimally invasive procedures that do not harm the natural flow of your body’s healing process.
Sometimes referred to an organic or green dentist, a holistic dentist is considerate of patients and their surroundings. Our practice seeks technology and products that do the least harm to the environment. Integrating advanced technology and alternative procedures, Dr. Gross and our team of professionals work diligently to offer dental care that positively influences the whole body by reducing environmental damage. One example is we don’t place amalgam fillings, which contain mercury, a heavy metal that’s hazardous to humans and the environment. Furthermore, we practice a precise and safe technique for removing and exposing of amalgam fillings.
How do your services positively affect my total wellbeing?
Healthy teeth and oral structures give us the ability to eat, speak, and function comfortably in our daily lives. However, more research surfaces daily about the connections between oral and overall health. The health of our teeth is inextricably intertwined with our cognitive, respiratory, and cardiac health. Preventing malocclusion, or bad bite, with restorative dentistry, for example, protects your quality of sleep and reduces TMD-related migraines, earaches, and neck and shoulder pain. As a part of our commitment to systemic health, we carefully select dental materials that harmonize with the human body.
As previously mentioned, we place metal-free, amalgam-free dental fillings that may be safer than traditional amalgam fillings. In addition, the composite resin used in our fillings is BPA free, which may reduce the environmental and health impact of the false hormones believed to be found in plastic.
We use digital radiography for our diagnostic X-rays because they require 80-percent less radiation exposure than traditional X-rays. Additionally, digital X-rays require no chemical processing, which is more efficient for your time, but also better for our environment since it does not require chemical processing.
These services are just a few examples of measures we take to enhance your overall physical health. In reality, all of our procedures, whether we are restoring tooth function with a dental implant, or conserving healthy tooth structure with a root canal; are backed by our dedication to improving your quality of life.
